Garden of Elusive Meanings opens the Radiance of Presence series and addresses the moment in which former meanings no longer correspond to the inner state of the object. Space becomes a projection of this transition: familiar forms lose their stability, and movement within the composition allows the object's own light to gradually emerge.
At the centre of the scene, a shoe formed from a looping line becomes the source of continuous movement, unfolding through space along a spiral trajectory. The branching lines of a dry tree form the framework of the environment, within which empty cages preserve the trace of lost meanings. Red moonlight intensifies the tension of the spatial path that draws inward through the composition.
The work approaches the process of liberation from unstable meanings as a stage in the formation of inner strength. The object's radiance does not yet gather space around itself, as in the subsequent works of the series, but already manifests through presence, in which the surroundings begin to acquire their own depth.
