The work is a fantasy about the future world of humanity, originating from the current state of human existence and the deteriorating ecological environment of our planet. With the rapid advancement of technology and productivity, maintaining the world's operation now requires vast amounts of resources at every moment. Consequently, the exploitation and misuse of natural resources have reached an unprecedented level. Furthermore, as populations concentrate and cities continue to develop, the essential living environment for humanity is gradually being eroded and destroyed. Steel and concrete dominate our surroundings, and green spaces are increasingly disappearing from our view. People have grown accustomed to living in their own created mechanical and electronic world, and the proliferation of waste continues to affect our lives.
Although I cannot stop the damage to the natural ecology, as an artist, I can present this harsh reality through imagination and hope that my work will move the audience, thereby serving as a warning.
As mentioned in the previous section, the theme of the creation is closely related to life. This piece is primarily based on an imagined life while incorporating elements from real life, allowing for considerable freedom and imaginative space. The work uses fantastical and bizarre methods to depict the future world in my mind. Due to excessive resource exploitation and continuous ecological deterioration, our planet has become unrecognizable, and humanity can no longer survive. What remains are merely traces of the past and transformed plants and environments. The piece showcases a distant future, analyzing the planet once inhabited by humans through an archaeological lens. It reveals that while the appearance of plants is still clear, their internal structure has mutated. These plants have become mutated forms of items once used by humans, intertwining with objects and essentially assimilating the original plants, adopting their beautiful appearance, and evolving from a once rigid and trash-like shape to a now delicate exterior. This can only be described as a repulsive and terrifying form of evolution. Such an archaeological discovery is something that no human would wish to see.
