Pascal Wild, born Alexander, adopted his middle name to craft a new artistic identity, distinct from his original self. This exploration of duality—being Alex or Pascal, and the shifting boundaries of self—is a central theme in his work. Through his art, Pascal embarks on a vivid exploration of identity and self-discovery, blending elements of his inner child with a playful yet subtly naive style. His acrylic paintings on canvas vividly capture the contrasts between his two personas: the dynamic energy of urban life versus a deep yearning for nature, the continuous struggle between good and evil, and the tension between societal expectations and personal desires.
Pascal’s work frequently reflects on the conflict between freedom and constraint, desire and addiction, often presented with a playful irony that challenges the viewer’s perception: “my kid could do that too.” His use of bold, bright colors and simplified forms creates a sense of both whimsy and depth, inviting viewers to engage with the underlying narratives of self-exploration and existential curiosity.
Educated in communication design, Pascal holds a bachelor’s degree from the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences. Initially establishing his career as a designer, he discovered his passion for painting during the Corona pandemic and has since been deeply committed to developing his unique artistic voice. Born in 1991, Pascal now lives and works in Berlin, Germany, where he continues to explore the complexities of identity through his art.
