Kampf mit Schlange
In “Kampf mit Schlange", the work deals with the eternal conflict between man and his inner and outer challenges. The central figure is engaged in a highly symbolic duel with a large snake - an encounter that is deeply rooted in mythology and can be understood as a metaphor for the struggle against the unknown and the threatening.
The deliberately minimalist and abstract style of the depiction, with clear colors and simplified forms, reinforces the ambivalence of the scene. The figure appears simultaneously childlike and naïve and determined, which points to the dual nature of the human experience - the coexistence of fear and courage, innocence and bravery. The snake coiled around the figure can be read as a symbol of inner conflicts, fears or temptations that we encounter in the course of our lives.
The work invites the viewer to question the relationship between the individual and their challenges. It remains open to different interpretations and invites the viewer to reflect on their own attitude towards themes such as confrontation, resilience and the confrontation with the self.
Through the combination of playful expression and profound symbolism, the work aims to create a space where personal and universal themes can enter into dialog with each other.
