Andrej Josifovski (1990), got his MSc degree in 2014 after he had finished his under-graduate studies at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Architecture in 2012, and now is PhD candidate at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Architecture. He is a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Architecture from april 2015 for a narrow scientific i.e. artistic field of Architectural constructions, materials and physics of buildings at the Department of Architectural Technologies.
His field of professional activities and research is directed on testing architectural constructions with nondestructive methods. He has participated in many professional - artistic events and competitions among which, worth pointing out, as a member of the working group and as a student received special recognition at the 23th International Salon of Urbanism in Belgrade for the project "New models of housing for vulnerable in floods" in the student category and with the same work received a special recommendation from the Council of the Salon of Architecture in March 2015 as an architectural event of the year for the project "New models of housing for vulnerable in floods" in the student category, also. In cooperation with professors organized and led several student workshops on professional tours.
His artwork has been included in the project "Memories of the city" (publication ISBN 978-86-912137-2-5), the rest of his works is published in more than ten books,catalogues,magazines.
Before he started working at the faculty, he had worked as an architect in the Architectural bureau (2014-2015) on development of architectural and urban projects.
He painted a number of murals in the country and abroad, and his work is appreciated in the various international media. He exhibited his work at eleven group and five solo exhibitions, among which the most important was "Face au mur" organized in The Cultural centre of Serbia in Paris / Centre culturel de Serbie, The biennale of architecture in Venice where he presented his work “The golden container” and solo exhibition “The Pianist – five years on the streets” wall and piece in Students cultural center in Belgrade, where he also presented his monograph.
He is also the founder and art director of the International Runaway Street Art Festival. As a part of the autors’team, he represents the Republic of Serbia at the 16th Biennale of Architecture in Venice. He is the winner of the "FRESH TALENT" prize for murals painted on Ostružnica bridge in Belgrade. He won the first prize "YOUTH HERO" in the field of art and culture.
He signs his works with his nickname the PIANIST
