Luichi Gasca is a Barcelona-based multidisciplinary artist and art director whose work explores the psychological and cultural impact of digital life. Working across moving image, installation, graphic design, and spatial interventions, he investigates the shifting boundaries between physical and virtual realities, examining how technology reshapes memory, identity, and contemporary experience. Drawing from internet culture, liminal spaces, consumer environments, and personal narratives, Gasca creates immersive works that blend visual precision with critical reflection. His practice is characterized by a fascination with nostalgia, hyperconnectivity, and the aesthetics of digital culture, using familiar visual languages to reveal the emotional and social structures that underpin contemporary life.
Recent works include Online, Disconnected, a multi-act audiovisual project exploring surveillance, fragmentation, and collective digital immersion; Alone // Shopping in the Virtual Plaza, an installation informed by vaporwave aesthetics and the architecture of virtual consumption; and El Jardín del Futuro: Brotes de una DistopIA, an award-winning short film examining sustainability and speculative futures through a dystopian lens.
In 2025, Gasca received the Special Prize at the Arte Laguna Prize, leading to an upcoming exhibition at MAMAM Recife. Moving fluidly between contemporary art and visual communication, his work reflects on the contradictions of an increasingly mediated world, where connection and isolation, presence and simulation, constantly overlap.
