Evelyn Fasch, born in 1964 in Graz, Austria, lives and works in her hometown. After training as a chemical technician and studying law, she has worked as a lawyer for the City of Graz since 1995. Since 2012 she has devoted herself intensively to art, developing her practice autodidactically and through studies with renowned art lecturers in Austria and abroad.
Artistic Work
Her works are created through a multi-layered process, incorporating materials such as marble dust, sand, ash, pigments, inks, chalks, coffee, and rust. Fasch constructs her paintings like an architect: layer by layer, surfaces with patina and structure emerge, integrating letters, numbers, and symbols that enter into dialogue with abstracted objects.
Her style combines color field painting and material-based works, telling stories of emotions, nature, architecture, and reflections on contemporary issues. Her guiding principle is: “What moves me, I transform into images.”
