Her practice emerges from a sustained observation of people, animals, nature, history, and the countless relationships through which lives move and coexist. Through this observation, she arrived at the dot as a small unit of life, and at the space between dots as a field where invisible relationships can be perceived.
In her works, a single point may suggest an individual life, while gathered or dispersed points reveal fragile structures of connection, distance, pressure, and movement. White space is not treated as an empty background, but as an open field where breath, perception, and relationships become visible.
Working with materials such as washi paper, Japanese ink, acrylic, crayon, and gold leaf, Sakura explores how presence, absence, light, and touch can be physically formed on the surface of a painting. Through minimal forms, she seeks to create works in which love, memory, and the movement of existence can be felt before they are explained.
