Mer is a Boston-based multimedia artist and songwriter working under the name Brain Rot, building work at the meeting point of generative animation, AI image-making, original music, and code. Her work ranges widely in form and palette, from psychedelic, color-saturated motion pieces to stark high-contrast series, unified less by a single look than by a sensibility rooted in glitch, decay, surrealism, cyber-gothic darkness and early-2000s digital nostalgia.
Original songwriting sits at the center of her practice. She writes her own music and builds visual worlds around it. The work is confessional and unflinching , private grief made visible through glitch, corruption, and digital decay.
Her practice moves fluidly between the personal and the performed. Alongside her fine-art work, she produces motion graphics, VJ loops, and live visuals for musicians, festivals and nightlife events, building cohesive long-form visual sets and real-time projection content.
