Piotr Bożyk was born in 1944. He graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland and completed post-graduate studies in design and sculpture at the University of Kansas, USA (Fullbright Scholarship). He is a designer (specializing in electronic and home appliances), sculptor (exhibitions of his kinetic art were held in Poland, USA, Germany and Hungary), academic teacher (Head of the Conceptual Design Studio at the Faculty of Industrial Design; invited lecturer in Finland, Slovenia, Romania and Great Britain) and Professor, former Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. His works have entered the collections of cultural institutions (the National Museum in Krakow, the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in Krakow, the Main Library of The Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, GAP Gallery of the Krakow University of Economics) and private owners in Poland, Germany, Hungary and USA.
