The original impulse for creating "Under Control" came to me at a Terry Bozzio concert back in November 2017. However, it took 1.5 more years for me to complete this picture. In my mind, Terry's playing on the percussions was visual as well as an audio experience. His patterns would form a clear, harmonious picture, in which colossal rhythm structures would hold smaller, finer ones, which in turn would contain even finer ones. "Under Control" is my attempt at a graphic depiction of this concert experience.Earlier this year, I decided to invert the colours on this piece, as the black background better represents the Infinity, or the Great Void, from which this experience seemed to have come. This piece is a limited edition print on canvas, the 1st of 2 prints.
"Under Control" was selected for this competition to see if someone else will have perceived musical rhythms the same way as I did.
