ELLXS is a photography and documentary initiative dedicated to spotlighting the vibrant trans and non-binary community in the heart of Mexico City. Over the years, Cecilia Villaverde has passionately captured diverse facets of the trans and LGBTQ+ community through visually compelling pieces, delving deep into their struggles, aspirations, needs, and personal narratives. Amidst these stories, a celebration of the profound beauty embedded within the human experience unfolds.
In this project, 25 individuals were meticulously selected from this unique community, immortalizing their essence through looping moving portraits, making them come alive. ELLXS, the inclusive Spanish pronoun for 'them,' signifies unity and embraces us all.
ELLXS becomes a celebration of the human spirit, a resounding voice against all forms of discrimination. It stands as a testament, a pledge to eradicate exclusion, in favor of radical inclusion, equality, and visibility. Each portrait, encapsulates a unique human story, waiting to be embraced.
