Apasmara was a dwarf in Hindu mythology who represented ignorance and nonsensical speech yet was important in maintaining a balance with knowledge. A more general reference is to a neurological disorder or a form of epilepsy that results in unintelligible speech or gibberish. This work was nonsensical to begin with, created with no preconception or planning, but as I worked I discovered visual order. It acted as a foil to my stupidity and depression, a dance that moved me from chaos to order and balanced out all that would destroy me. It represents Apasmara being crushed under Shiva's foot, in this case, by the use of visual design (color, gesture, shape, 3D space) thus allowing for visual awareness. By crushing disorder, beauty is created.
