I was raised outside of Boston, MA and studied art at Stanford University,
including studying in Florence, Italy, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Studio Art. I then moved back east and turned
to commercial fishing to eat, working on my art in the off-seasons. Eventually I moved to Arizona to pursue art full-time. I taught and
oversaw the 2-D Fine Arts Program at Yavapai College in Prescott to support my own art and stereoscopic research. I have exhibited nationally and internationally. In recent years he has shown
work locally; in Brooklyn, NY; Yuma, Phoenix and Tempe, AZ; Santa Monica and San Francisco, CA;
Venice, Italy; Bogotá, Colombia: and Buenos Aires.
My art is an exploration, a confrontation
between our primitive hardware and what technology has presented us. We live in
chaotic times with change, uncertainty, and layer upon layer of Blake’s ‘mind forged manacles’ that we
impose upon ourselves to gain security and control (laws, insurance, and
money). The colors in my work are bright, seductive, like technology, comfortable, yet leaving one
off-balanced, often out of control and overwhelmed.
