One day, because I felt completly lost, I started asking strangers: “Excuse me, are you Luisa Turuani?”. Instead of replying “yes” or “no”, many people imagined various possible identities and stories. Similar to Alice in the Wonderland, the video shows a surreal journey made of unpredictable encounters: famous dead people at the Père-Lachaise graveyard, little animals in Central Park, strange little objects in Chinatown, huge trees at the botanic garden in Palermo and fantastic characters during the Carnival of Venice. The video helps people to consider their own identity as a fluid and unpredictable matter that we can’t define once and for all. In other words, we are the result of a co-operative process of creation and containers where people can activate their imagination.
