Fluid identity. This series originated from “Deutschsein” (being German) — a scene from my video installation “Rudolf Duala Manga Bell - a German Story” which deals with questions of cultural and national identity in Germany in the context of its colonial history and how it relates to anti-Black racism today. Here, the idea is expanded to not only create a space of fluidity between notions of race and skin color, but also age and gender.
