Work 01: "The Illusion of a Sailboat"
The artwork, conceived and created, depicts a sailboat suspended in an infinite sea, with the wind meant to fill its sails and propel it toward the horizon. However, in this creation, the sail is absent: while maintaining its iconic shape, it is replaced by a 3D-printed frame that evokes its silhouette but lacks its essential element. This void becomes the focal point of the work, a powerful metaphor that not only reflects the human desire for freedom and autonomy but also the profound contradictions that emerge when form betrays substance.
At first glance, the boat appears to be a normal sailboat, but it reveals an emptiness that prevents it from moving forward, transforming into a sharp critique of the superficiality of contemporary environmental policies. Opera 01: "L'illusione della barca a Vela"L'opera d'arte ideata e realizzata raffigura una barca a vela sospesa in un mare infinito, con il vento che dovrebbe gonfiare le sue vele e spingerla verso l’orizzonte. Tuttavia, in questa creazione, la vela è assente: pur mantenendo la sua forma iconica, è sostituita da un’intelaiatura stampata in 3D che ne evoca la sagoma, ma è priva del suo elemento essenziale. Questo vuoto diventa il fulcro dell'opera, una metafora potente che non solo riflette il desiderio umano di libertà e autonomia, ma anche le profonde contraddizioni che emergono quando la forma tradisce la sostanza.
A prima vista, la barca appare come una normale imbarcazione a vela, ma rivela un vuoto che le impedisce di avanzare, trasformandosi in una critica incisiva alla superficialità delle politiche ambientali contemporanee. Spesso, infatti, queste politiche, pur presentandosi esteticamente come risposte sostenibili, si rivelano inefficaci o addirittura dannose. La dicotomia tra la bellezza estetica della struttura e la sua inutilità funzionale riflette la fragilità delle soluzioni superficiali che vengono adottate per affrontare le sfide ecologiche globali. L'installazione invita lo spettatore a guardare oltre le apparenze, a esaminare il divario tra ciò che sembra giusto e ciò che realmente funziona, spingendo a riconsiderare la direzione delle nostre scelte.
Parallelamente, l'opera conserva la metafora della barca a vela come simbolo della vita stessa.
