Portrait of the inner self
Interactive installation
Interactive ceramic installation Portrait of the inner self offers to create an abstract image of your inner being by combining various ceramic elements with the Chaos Dome object. The diversity of the Chaos object symbolises both the nature of a life flow and a human character - a beautiful balance of naivety and complexity, symmetry and disorderly. The cup hidden under the dome construction plays the role of the source of essential support for living nature (flower) as a vessel for water and another amazing feature is its pure simplicity. The symmetrical dome is a metaphor for the stable inner core, the base which protects the cup with water from one hand and the keeper of diverse branches from another.
The Chaos dome was created by wheel-throwing the dome shape. 77 holes were made for placing the dissimilar hand-built elements. For the harmonic, reach and natural palette of an object different clay types were mixed in various proportions. In the duration of three month there were created about 100 different elements unlike each other which were inspired by Slovak flora.
The Chaos dome is a part of a long-term project of social exploration and gathering an archive of human feelings through the act of co-creation of the piece of art.
Creating a portrait implies setting ceramic elements in a certain way combining them with the dome. It is free to choose how many elements to use and how to arrange them. Ask for assistance from an artist or from a gallery worker.
Every portrait will be captured for an archive of images sorted by the location of the happening and accompanied by some notes from the creators. See an archive preview at @evgeniia.kazarezova.
