My name is Evgeniia Kazarezova, I am a multidisciplinary designer from Bratislava, currently working with ceramics. Based on the primitive techniques of turning clay into an art design object, I rethink the function and shape of a ceramic vessel. I create interactive sculptures for flowers, focusing on the natural and tactile qualities of the object, through my works I rethink the position of plants in urbanscape and the role of nature in modern human life.
I'm a child of post-Soviet Russia. Grew up in an environment of Soviet postmodernist, brutalist architecture of an industrial city and minimalist grey landscapes of Siberian winter, I associate myself with an aesthetic of impressive forms, making my objects massive, tactile, and sensory. I observe relationships of modern humans and flora on the city site, making connections between different phenomenons. Through the natural material and oldest craft, I explore the subject of interaction with nature on different levels of perception - visual, tactile, sensual. Setting an accent on the absence of a perfect object, person, character, moment, or life, I invite the observer to notice the beauty of imperfection.
