A bed – a symbol of rest, safety, intimacy – is stripped of its function. Form loses coherence, stability is no longer guaranteed, and what was once a place of regeneration becomes a source of tension. What was meant to offer comfort now evokes unease. The body, once supported here, is forced into confrontation with discomfort, limitation, exclusion.
This intervention is not about destruction, but revelation – of dependency, of the illusion of control, of the fragility of the structures upon which everyday life is built. The absence of function becomes a tool for reflection on how easily the familiar and secure can become inaccessible.
