The sculpture represents an abstract and self-supporting structure that recalls the shape of a bird cage, or a lantern. Composed of the union of many wooden segments, glued together according to a design drawing and reinforced at the joints with polymer clay, its entire framework was first covered with plaster and then finished with cyan acrylic and transparent varnish, thus enhancing the imprints left by the fingers as they shaped the sculptural surface. The manual signs that accompany the irregular lines of the composition represent the creative force that gave life to the work, transforming a handful of helpless wooden sticks into a random figuration of elements in tension, held together by a center that is closure and vertex at the same time, starting point and arrival point. Then the structure no longer seems like an empty cage or a lantern waiting to welcome the light, therefore an object without a subject, but itself becomes an entity of continuous flow energy that propagates and always returns to its origin.
