RED&BLU focuses on the issues encoutered in everyday communication.
The small sculpture with a squared base and misaligned levels represents the
tower of Babel when all the languages were mixed and communication between
people ended.
The letters that form the words codified in the Lia-code 7bit language
prove that, even if communication has collapsed, it is still possible to take it
back by creating a new path towards new "WORDS".
the two panels show that we have two options for using words: we can
use them in a meaningful and sincere way, without wasting them, or we can get
lost in useless small talks.
The big sculpture opened as a book represents the act of listening: the
RED part reports the alphabet on both sides, with a simmetric structure; it
represents the desired ideal ability of making the listener understand want we
exactly mean. The BLUE part contains the alphabet on one side and a decomposed alphabet
on the other, altered by misconceptions, opinions, doubts, fear...Hence it
represents the inability to listen.
The installation recalls the red and blu pills
in Matrix, which make us choose between looking at reality or at what the
System wants us to see. The goal is to push the observers to ask themselves
questions and make personal decisions being aware that the paths are always
complex and turtuous.
