Opening: October 4, 2025, 2:30 p.m. West Tower Chapel of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Linz Exhibition Duration: October 5 to 14, 2025 | Daily 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Artist in the Exhibition: Wednesday, October 8, 2025, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. On October 4, 2025, the installation nunc (Latin for „now“) by Josseline Engeler was opened as part of the „Festival for the Earth“ through a participatory action. Visitors to the Festival for the Earth were invited to participate in a performative appropriation of space using clay and ceramics and, together with the artist, to compact the loose loam that covers the floor around the ceramic objects throughout the space. This activity took place in silence. Afterwards, visitors were able to clean their feet at pre-installed footwashing stations in the chapel’s vestibule. The title „nunc“ builds a bridge from history to the present and manifests itself in the form of the ceramic objects as a fragile moment in space. Direct contact with the natural media, clay and loam, involves humans as part of an ecosystem to be preserved in the question of a future worth living.
