This sculpture is part of the Lost Rays Series, a collection that explores how inner darkness, misguided external influences, and isolation can bind the human spirit and take away its sense of liberation and freedom.
In this work, darkness comes from both the outside and within—emerging through human neglect.
The sculpture serves as a warning: when one closes their eyes, ears, and voice to injustice, they become a silent witness to it. The octopus, a symbol of quiet domination, slowly wraps itself around the human form, drawing it into its grasp.
This entrapment is not sudden; it begins the moment a person loses hope and truth is ignored.
Gradually, fragments of this darkness seep into the human body, until the boundary between the self and the shadow begins to dissolve.
This sculpture reminds us that indifference to injustice is itself a form of captivity.
