Ahmad Tarzi is a master of mirror art whose practice bridges traditional Persian craftsmanship with contemporary artistic expression. Born in Tehran into a family deeply rooted in artisanal heritage and cultural scholarship, he developed an early sensitivity to form, light, and material. At the age of sixteen, Tarzi began his artistic journey, quickly engaging in architectural projects that allowed him to integrate the centuries-old art of mirror work into modern spatial design.
This early immersion in both art and architecture shaped a distinctive visual language, where reflection becomes a medium for exploring themes of identity, perception, and inner duality. His intricate installations and sculptural works manipulate light and fragmented surfaces to create immersive experiences that invite viewers into a dialogue between the physical and the metaphysical.
In 2013, Tarzi’s contributions were formally recognized with his acceptance into the Cultural Heritage Craftsmanship Guild, affirming his role in preserving and evolving a significant artistic tradition. Over the years, his work has been exhibited internationally, earning attention for its technical mastery and conceptual depth.
In 2020, he was honored with the title of Master in mirror art, marking a pivotal moment in his career. Since then, Tarzi has expanded his practice to include mentorship, dedicating himself to guiding emerging artists and ensuring the continuity and innovation of this specialized craft. Alongside his teaching, he continues to produce and exhibit new works, pushing the boundaries of mirror art within the global contemporary art scene.
