Maestosità

 "Majesty" is a work of art that depicts a gorilla in a dominant posture, made with the origami technique. The sculpture, made of paper treated with liquid metals and acidified to activate an oxidation process, has an external appearance of rusted iron. This duality between the powerful figure of the gorilla and the fragility of the material used embodies the contrast between the physical grandeur of the animal and the inherent vulnerability that can be hidden behind a facade of strength.

"Majesty" explores the theme of external strength that hides an inner fragility. The gorilla, a symbol of power, authority and protection in the animal kingdom, is represented here with a posture that communicates control and security. However, the sculpture is built in paper, a delicate and vulnerable material, coated with oxidized metals that give an appearance of antiquity and robustness. This contrast symbolizes the armor we wear to appear strong and invulnerable, hiding our true sensitive and fragile nature.

The name "Majesty" alludes to the dual nature of appearance and reality. Just like the gorilla, who may seem indomitable on the outside but has complex social behaviors and deep emotional feelings, we often hide our weaknesses behind a facade of strength. The rust that forms on the surface of the sculpture represents the inevitable deterioration of this armor."
