The most famous light of our century.
Who can imagine a life without this light? During the day, for many hours, we bathe our faces in the light of devices. It is the light that leads us, that teaches us, that connects us, that distracts us.
The Lifelights sculpture underscores how technology permeates our daily lives and keeps us in a constant state of connectivity. Smartphones serve as beacons of light, allowing us to explore and understand the world around us. But also at the same time they connect and isolate us.
The sculpture consists of a white cross on a steel plate. Attached to the cross are nine golden cast hands holding a smartphone.
Light emanates from the smartphones. Lifelights symbolizes the use of smartphones as if it were a new religion.
