The installation consists of eight cocoons, for the production of which strips of foil (materials from photopolymer etching) were crocheted. They are both solid and flexible, translucent and the light plays on their surface. They are empty. They can be experimentally "installed" in different contexts.
The idea came about while thinking about modernity, the future or futures and longings.
In "Empty cocoons 1", the cocoons are attached to a dead branch. The construct stands on sandy ground, surrounded by colourful butterflies made of dyed tissue paper (material from the intaglio work). They too are light, vulnerable and yet robust. Their destination, their perspective is uncertain, as it is for young people at this time. But they are colourful and diverse and "dance" at the slightest breeze. The word "Tenderness" written in the sand, is perhaps reminiscent of wishes and longings that young people on the beach simply write - while walking - in the sand.
