Cellula #1 is a self-contained living sculpture where brutalist architecture becomes both container and relic. Unlike the open ecosystems of the Habitat series, Cellula encloses life within the structure itself, suspended above the void, like a remnant of an obsolete civilization.
The base is a monolithic concrete pedestal, inspired by post-war monumental architecture. On top, a glass volume holds a micro-landscape of soil and moss. This elevation isolates the ecosystem, making it untouchable yet exposed, like a preserved specimen.
The work reflects on permanence and fragility, on the illusion of control over the natural world, and on the architectural will to endure, even as nature quietly takes over.
