In “Bull’s Head”, the duality of body and mind coalesces into a sculptural unity. The work draws on the natural texture of a teak segment to capture the primal power of the Minotaur. The contrast in materials is particularly striking: whilst the rough wooden head and cracked bark represent a connection to the earth, the translucent soapstone horns lend the figure an almost sacred aura. The composition plays on the dynamics of setting out on a new journey – the head reaches forward, whilst the solid, untreated stone base acts as an anchor. A work exploring the tension between desire and reality, captured in the raw beauty of organic materials.
