B r e v a r i o [ I ] is a compendium; is a summary; is an index; an abbreviation of what is collapsing around us. It is a method of reflecting on our times.
The bricks left over from the demolitions have one characteristic — their uniqueness. There is no one like the other; and collected from different houses, and gathered in an organized way, — they resignify themselves and tell stories. In its marks impregnated with memories, its pressed letters, its signs and traces, deep ruptures appear — homes, dreams, families, destroyed histories, traumas. B r e v i a r i o [ I ] is a thought constructed by these different layers, loaded with signs and meanings, which are crossed by the recurring episodes of our times — we watch closely and astonished, neighborhoods of our city being devastated, not resisting the disorderly verticalization and unpunished to gentrification. Also, we can "read" in Breviario [ I ], the exodus of wars with the destruction of families, lives, and histories; the avalanches of entire homes, caused by the environmental imbalance and lack of public policies.
