(I have put together a link for a better overview of my work process)
The 'C.H.B.U.' series displays a collection of sun umbrellas, unified in their creation, yet diverse in their display. 'B.P.-01' features six individual umbrella structures collectively mounted on a wall, evoking the feel of a bundled set. Together, they create more than just a single entity; they exude an aura reminiscent of past shadows.
The material for these umbrellas comes from a bridge that once served as a highway exit. With intent, the artist partnered with a construction firm to obtain specific bridge parts, notably the aluminum railings. It mattered to him that these components came from a structure that was taken down and not rebuilt.
This material, from a transitional space known for its rapid pace, was repurposed into umbrellas. These now static and sealed umbrellas, deprived of their initial role, hint at a stillness, an absence a metamorphosis that conceals more than it showcases.
It appears the artist is captivated by instances where questions overshadow answers.
