Atlas X

The “atlas X" reflects the scientific classification of the plants used in the field of craft industry  and evokes the dominant presence of the vegetable kingdom in the iconography of of textile art and in its economy throughout the ages. The “X” in the title refers to the number of the hall in the Civic Museum of Modena where one of the most ancient Italian fabric collection is conserved and where the site-specific installation has been shown. Each plant of the “Atlas X “ is presented with the color that is extracted from  its flower or from its  fruit or roots.

Size variable:  46 elements various measures, from 35x60 cm  to 100x110 cm.
