The Sumerian word An-Bar, the most ancient term used to designate iron, is formed by the pictographic symbols of “sky” and “fire”.
An-Bar is weaved from the language of dualism but aims at recomposing harmony: brightness and opacity, image shown and image retained; the memory of water and fire creates a dense tension that aims to unite opposites.
An-Bar is the result of a new technique named Astroblema, which refers to the formation of craters created by the impact of a meteorite on planets or satellites.
AN-BAR is part of the Memorie Celesti collection: Memorie Celesti Collection marks the beginning of two new techniques of Alessandro Rametta: Astroblema and Orogenesi, on stainless steel and a copper and tin alloy, respectively. If the “Natura” collection was focused on the germinative powers of earth, in this series focus is on the secrets of sky, in contemplation of stars with infinite variations of light.
