Site-specific installation; 7 shaped cubes in Silver Mirror Polymethyl Methacrylate, 2 meters on each side with Arial Black laser-cut font, overall dimensions of the room, 2014.
Project for a Woodland Environment
The installation, made from carefully assembled interlocking PMMA sheets, involves arranging the cubes on the forest floor along a free-form line, juxtaposing their letters to form the work's name.
The work reinterprets, in a modern key, the compositional idea of Saint Francis of Assisi's Canticle of the Creatures, while maintaining the simplicity of the celebration of Divine Glory through the rapture and ecstasy of the senses awakened by the wonders of creation.
The natural landscape and its characteristics are thus considered on the principle of reflecting their beauty, enhanced by the reflective properties of the cubes, capable of redirecting, through their voids and mirrors, the viewer's perceptions onto infinite spatial contexts.
The happiness of human bliss thus seeks harmony in the ecstatic experience of a new and respectful ethic of aesthetics.
