"A Matter of Metaverse #2" - Concrete, silicon, aluminium.
Installation that aims to push the boundaries of materiality and immateriality, challenging our perception of virtual spaces and their impact on our reality.
Crafted using a combination of silicon cement and aluminum, this installation delves into the essence of virtual spaces, suggesting that they have a tangible existence that profoundly influences our physical world.
The suspended appearance of the column sections emphasizes the transient nature of virtual spaces, inviting viewers to question the boundaries between what is real and what is virtual. The use of silicon wafers, with their reflective surface, further accentuates this ambiguity by capturing and distorting the surrounding environment. The reflection becomes a window into the interplay of realities, questioning the blurred lines between the physical and digital worlds.
With "A Matter of Metaverse 2" I invite viewers to critically engage with the impact of virtual spaces on our perception and understanding of reality. By deconstructing a pillar of our physical abodes and intertwining it with the intangible, the artwork is a call to reflect on the materiality inherent within the immaterial.
