This artwork is part of a photographic series exploring the role of plastic in our everyday lives. The series contrasts the practical and beneficial uses of plastic with its harmful environmental consequences. A central aspect of the project is the growing concern about the ingestion of microplastics through our food.
The photograph shows the artist's mouth sealed with plastic tape while attempting to break free. It can be interpreted as a critique of the excessive use of plastic and its environmental impact and danger for our health, drawing attention to the urgent need for change. At the same time, the image also invites a more nuanced reading: it questions the tendency to join counter-movements uncritically, encouraging reflection rather than unquestioning acceptance of any position.
