This performance stems from a visceral need to give shape to the pain of disillusionment. I shaped these terracotta hearts with my own hands, then let them smash to the ground.
It is not the story of a single ending. It is the reflection of a distracted and cruel humanity, capable of trampling and crushing the purest feelings. It happens in love, it happens in friendship, it happens every time selfishness violates nature, the sea, the sky and the trust of others. Despicable actions destroy the fragile matter of sincerity.
But terracotta makes noise when it breaks. And art has the duty to gather the pieces, stare deception in the face and transform it into pure expression. And the Truth always reveals itself, even among the fragments.
I'm creative, passionate, free.
The frame itself is handcrafted by myself: a wooden base panel covered in machine-sewn red jute with frayed edges. The photograph is hung with four clips on a separate, raised panel using spacers to make the image stand out. Together, these elements transform the work into a three-dimensional installation.
