Digital photography can record light, but it cannot touch the wet, chemical essence of life. Images in this series were created photographically without the direct interaction of light. Leaves were placed in contact with light sensitive photographic paper and left in total darkness to document their slow process of death. As they broke down, their stored light would slowly leak out to expose the paper which was then developed using the traditional chemical photographic print process.
