Homage to Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers

Zero Field is an artistic concept developed by Shogo Shimiya that explores the state before form becomes fixed. Rather than presenting completed images, it sustains the moment in which perception is still emerging.

BLAZING is grounded in Burnism and realized through Burning Field Light Painting. It understands fire not as a force of destruction, but as a field of transformation. Inspired by Otakiage, a traditional Japanese ritual with a history spanning more than 1,300 years, in which cherished objects are returned through flame with gratitude and reverence, the work embraces burning as an act of release, renewal, and continuation. By sustaining the transformative state in which form is passing from one existence into another, it reveals fire as a medium through which memory, spirit, and possibility continue beyond material presence.

This work is dedicated to the deceased as both a floral tribute and a farewell offering.
