It all began when I noticed a plaque in front of the Accoules nursery school. This one is a witness of the location of the first observatory in Marseille, where Jean-Louis Pons, assistant astronomer, was working. But who is he? What did he discover? A real investigation begins to reconstitute, as if facing a black hole, the puzzle of his life and his discoveries. But what were the space archives of the 18th century like?
To answer all these questions, and many others, through the study of prints, I question our relationship to the Universe. I seek to provoke enigmas, by being interested in all these temporary hypotheses that men elaborate to understand certain mysteries, even if it means introducing the imaginary. Thus, my research is nourished by scientific theories still under reflection, metaphysical speculations or literary accounts which imagine a symbolic interpretation of the world. I often work from terrestrial objects of observation by associating them a symbolic dimension. I transform them to give form to forms of investigation of chance, nothingness, or beginning.
I started this project a year after the Nice attack of 2016. After this trauma, I underwent EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) sessions that allowed me to reconstruct a collection of images and sounds, to leave behind this distant and blurred memory, to leave aside this heavy cross. Like a child who discovers an object for the first time, and to recompose oblivion from all these small fragments of stories. For me, these images elucidate the enigmas of a past that I did not know, whether it is close or distant. There have always been in me like missing pictures, moving or still, that I had to try to understand. All these fragments of stories weave my Ariadne's thread of which I am the trace. These photographic prints are like "revivals", in which the cosmos is the rope that links ages and memories, the past and the future, to represent the link between these two worlds that are separated by our fragile existence, between our earth and the universe.
- These images are possible interpretations of the cosmos. My gaze is always turned towards the earth, during my walks, and tries to capture the link that unites us to the heavens. The universe being this link that unites the past, the present and the future -
