Elisabeth Verrat, born on January 18, 1996 in Nice, was very early in her life in the Arts when she was still only in the "little ones" at the Freinet school in Vence, she had received a teaching turned towards the world, the landscapes, the nature and the other. These foundations had already inscribed her in a desire to translate her vision into the arts. In high school, she integrated a baccalaureate in Literature, Plastic Arts and Art History, at the Henri Matisse High School in Vence. She began her studies in Art History in Lyon, but after a few months she realized that theory without artistic practice caused a great lack in her. She then decided to take the entrance exam for the Villa Thiole; a preparatory class for art and architecture schools in Nice. Very quickly, at the Villa Thiole, she spends long hours in the silver laboratory photographing microscopy, and creating macroscopic universes through mold. Her work moves back and forth between storytelling and photography, also playing with scales, with a particular attention given to the "making of an image" which is not without revealing how we see ourselves and the universe. After her year at the Villa Thiole, she joined the Pavillon Bosio in Monaco, a school of art and scenography. Elisabeth decided to leave the Pavillon Bosio after two years of studies to join the Licence 3 Arts-Plastiques et sciences de l'art at Paris 1 La Sorbonne, in order to rediscover theory and practice, which are two fundamental elements for her. She continues to work in narrative and photography, where she compresses the real, sometimes also to integrate fiction, she obtained her license 3 with honors. She continues her studies at the Beaux-Arts de Marseille, where she conducts an investigation on the territory of Marseille and particularly around the old Observatory of the Panier district and Jean-Louis Pons, former astronomer, she collaborates with researchers astrophysicists and obtains her DNSEP with mention of research, in June 2021. She exhibited her work at the Port des Créateurs in Toulon during a group exhibition, Caelesti, organized by the University of Toulon in January 2020, and for the Fête de la Science at the Mairie de Marseille in October 2021 through the Petits Débrouillards, she participated in the Grand Tour residency in October and November 2021 at the Fondation Bevilacqua la Masa, in Venice Elisabeth Verrat's work is a journey into the meanders of a new galaxy. The visitor is absorbed by images holding an elusive matter, letting him gravitate in uncontrollable back and forth between macrocosms and microcosms.
