Art de Fact
In my new
series "Art de fact" I reflect on the zeitgeist, which seems
increasingly surreal to me due to its instability, unpredictability and
unreality. In "Art de fact" it´s about the following thesis:
if today efficacy means more than truth, virtuality increasingly replaces
physical reality, and affects dominate meaning and reason, then art might
provide support, orientation and meaning. In my opinion art is not for
communicating or even teaching moral or political convictions, but represents
plurality and ambivalence. The more uncertain the facts, the more
important the feelings; the images should provoke a reaction, whether
disturbing or pleasing, and motivate people to listen and see within. The work
is based on photography. I work digitally “by hand” (photoshop), use collages
and montages and do not generate any image components using artificial
intelligence.
