Art collective Durandarte, represented by Eugenio Micheli, dancer, with the collaboration of Marta Papaccio, dancer, and Sonia Candellone, musician, presenting Unmei.
Using the language of contemporary dance, the performance, through a direct interaction with the public, offers a thought about the perpetual motion of energy that ties every living being together, the string that carries the story of our destiny. Unmei’s goal is to bring together dance, music, public and artists, carrying every element through the composition of a common melody.
Unmei takes its name from the Japanese story “Unmei no okay ito”, which narrates of a red string that keeps twin souls tied together, a red string just like the one that Arianna gifted Teseo in the myth of the Minotaur’s maze. In the performance, the image of the labyrinth, represents the intricate maze of the human mind, and how we can face it by following the red string of our destiny, the same string that, intertwining with others, creates the canvas that encloses and unites every form of life and energy.
