Drawing from the classical compositions of Titian and Rubens—where figures observe, hide, and linger in intimate spaces—this piece shifts my focus toward pure psychological interiority. I deliberately saturate the canvas in an overwhelming, visceral red, creating a claustrophobic domestic space where figures and architectural elements constantly overlap and dissolve into one another.
In 'The Saturated Room', this dense, layered composition becomes a chamber of what I call "la démonstrie". Here, the characters lose their fixed identities to become unstable, shifting presences, caught between the urge to show themselves and the instinct to hide. In this saturated interior, the physical boundaries of the room collapse into the emotional turmoil of the figures, leaving them trapped in a perpetual state of suspense, friction, and impending revelation.
