My artistic practice is based on a dialogue between ancient dyeing techniques and contemporary intuitive abstraction. By treating traditional craftsmanship as a bridge connecting history with the present, I seek universal and timeless values in art. I believe that in an era of digital immediacy, returning to organic, time-consuming processes allows me to capture the pure essence of the creative act. Deeply rooted in art informel, the concept of the collective unconscious, and philosophy of durée (living time), my work rejects literal figuration in favor of forms that are born organically. Working with traditional pigments becomes a meditative process where matter and chance co-create the artwork.
The piece "Undercurrent" is a direct manifestation of this philosophy, exploring the internal, unseen flows of energy and emotion. Its foundation was created using the shibori dyeing technique—a physical interaction with the fabric where folding, binding, and the unpredictability of pigment organically shape the canvas. Upon this intuitively formed base, the piece was further developed through the meticulous technique of embroidery, entirely without any preliminary sketch or logical plan. Time is the absolute key concept here; the repetitive, immersive act of stitching transforms time into a medium and a portal. It becomes a pathway leading back to the primal essence of human intuition and raw creativity. Through this meditative search for form, color, and thread, I aim to awaken the primal sensitivity that lies within us all, touching upon a universal language of emotion and memory that escapes the confines of time.
