Made during a residency in Budapest, these mixed media paintings (acrylic, papier collé, pastel) portray the characteristic vacant lots of Pest: an inquiry into the city’s history and identity, but also the resilience and beauty of urban space. Cut and painted pages from the Magyarorszag Utikonyvek, a Communist-era travel book describing all the historic/architectural tourist sites of Hungary, were used to build the space.
