Anna
Belleforte draws on a background in architectural conservation (MA). She is fascinated by the built environment and
examines the human experiences of cities, structures and landscapes, through a
variety of media. In seeking out the personal impact or collective significance
of places, she seeks to understand how spaces influence us or tell our stories.
Her representations of structures and spaces are colourful, almost
illustrative, but also speak of a deeper layer. The paper-piecing, the
contrasts of scale, the details within a big perspective, the sense of place –
all reflect observations on the
discrepancies of scale and the intangible things that shape our world. Through
this, she expresses a universality
that we can all connect to.
