Lost Eden III
The third painting in an ongoing cycle born from my longing for a Lost Eden- a world before borders, before divisions, before we began to forget one another, and before we forgot who we truly are.
Lost Eden is my longing.
For a world that feels both distant and strangely familiar.
Perhaps my soul has never forgotten it.
Is Eden a place?
Or is it a state of being we spend our whole lives trying to return to?
I sat before a blank sheet of handmade Japanese washi paper without a plan, allowing the suzuri stone, ink and brush to guide my hand. In silence, an unknown world slowly emerged: primal, fragile and alive.
Perhaps such an Eden existed before humankind.
Or perhaps it has always been within us, waiting to be remembered.
Each painting is an attempt to find the way back.
