The painting represents a view of the eastern part of the city of Medellín, in the light of the sunset between warm tones you can see the sky, part of the mountain range, buildings and houses of the neighborhood in perspective that get bigger in the downstairs.
This work can be taken as a piece of a diptych with the "Interior".
Here the city is between agony and birth. It is the city of Medellín, the light that covers it and hides it and highlights it. The city as a question, what makes it beautiful, what is in it, what is beyond the mountain. It is the modern city of our country, Colombia, the city that merits as an image of progress. Hence the picture also emerges, of inhabiting a particular space, of loving and hating it simultaneously. The management of light and composition is still very important, as it was for Hammershoi and Hooper, with that air of nostalgia and loneliness as well as promise to fulfill. Eternity suspended, so it is representative of my work.
